Probably not. Sure, it works well. Sure, it’s fast and it’s supposed to be more secure. In spite of all that, though, IE has a pretty solid foundation. It’s generally seen as the browser of choice, even with Firefox and some other browsers on the scene. With that being the case, and with other options out there as well, it would be very difficult for one browser – especially a new one – to completely take over from IE. This is definitely true with IE having such a large market share and being so popular.
All the bugs have been worked out of it, and the people who use it know that they don’t have to worry about that. But it still crashes, and it still runs slow, and it’s still got issues that just won’t ever completely go away. So there will definitely be some people who will make the switch and not come back.
